The gifts of human intelligence have enabled many innovations and tools in AI, IT, and multimedia that continues to improve and affect human lives tremendously. Yet these powerful tools may also be misused such as in addiction, in pornography, in the culture of death, and in fierce competitions to prosper at the expense of defeating others. Authentic Catholic teaching encourages to live out Christian faith of love, care and helping each other in the use of high-tech in one's profession in life in serving other people and the common good of the society.

Program Objectives


The BScAIMT Programme intends to enable students to:

  1. Equip students with comprehensive understanding of both AI and multimedia technologies, encompassing both theoretical foundations and practical applications.
  2. Encourage the application of AI within multimedia fields such as arts technology, music, extended reality, metaverse and other media, thereby fostering innovation at the convergence of technology and creativity.
  3. Develop critical thinking skills that enable students to assess concepts, theories, and principles related to AI and multimedia technology, empowering them to effectively tackle real-world challenges.
  4. Offer practical experience in the implementation of AI algorithms and the utilisation of multimedia technology tools, allowing students to engage with real-world environment and application.
  5. Advocate for ethical and professional practices, teamwork, and the enhancement of communication skills necessary for presenting AI solutions and collaborating with diverse teams, thereby promoting holistic problem-solving in the realms of AI and multimedia technology.

The following is only a preliminary and unofficial view provided for convenience:

The annual tuition fee for the 2026/27 intake of the 4-year BScAIMT programme is HK$86,670 per year.

The net tuition, after the deduction of the $35,120 Government subsidy (if approved) under NMTSS which is applicable for full-time local students only, is $51,550 per year.

With Internal Articulation Scholarship (for recent SFU HD graduates articulating to this BSc at Year 3 entry), the tuition reduces to $20k per year.

Qualified applicants may also apply for cholarships offered by the University:

Entrance Scholarships of $30k for full-time year 1 entry with HKDSE 5 subjects total ≥ 13, year 2/3 entry with CGPA ≥ 2.2/2.6.

Principal's Normination Scholarship of $10k .

SFU Empowerment Scholarship of $20k for new students with good academic record (HKDSE 5 subjects total ≥ 17) and financial need.

Louis LEUNG Kwong Yoon Scholarship of $20k for new Catholic students willing to uphold Catholic values in study and in life.

International students may apply: All courses in BScAIMT are taught in English, where Chinese language courses may be replaced by other courses for non-English speaking students.

Admission requirements for international students


The equivalent qualification to meet the admission requirements for local studentsis generally the successful completion of high school education in a 12-grade school system. It will include basic STEM courses and sufficient preparation in English proficiency to enable study in this degree program with lectures taught in English. Performance based on school transcript will be evaluated individually. Non-English speaking international students may be exempted from Chinese language study.
