The MScAICT Programme intends to enable students to:

  1. Equip students with a deep and comprehensive understanding of AI and creative technology in both theory and applications;
  2. Foster the ability to apply AI in creative domains such as art, design, music, film, gaming, and other media, promoting innovation at the intersection of technology and creativity;
  3. Cultivate critical thinking abilities to evaluate concepts, theories, and principles of AI and creative technology, enabling students to address real-world challenges effectively;
  4. Provide hands-on experience in implementing AI algorithms and leveraging creative technology tools to work with real-world datasets and develop solutions for industry-specific problems;
  5. Promote ethical and professional practice and teamwork and cultivate strong communication abilities for presenting AI solutions and collaborating with varied teams, fostering comprehensive problem-solving in AI and creative technology fields.

The tuition for 2026-27 cohort is HK$176,880

Master students may be awarded the Future Talents Scholarship Scheme FTSS at $100k on a competitive basis.

Qualified applicants may also apply for cholarships offered by the University:

Internal Articulation Scholarship of $50k .(for recent SFU degree graduates articulating to this MSc)

Entrance Scholarships of $30k .

SFU Empowerment Scholarship of $20k for new students with good academic record and financial need.

Louis LEUNG Kwong Yoon Scholarship of $20k for new Catholic students willing to uphold Catholic values in study and in life.

Curriculum


Full-time (one year) study:

12 credits in Semester 1, 12 credits in Semester 2, 6 creditss in Semester 3 (summer)

Part-time (2 years) study:

Year 1

6 credits in Semester 1, 6 credits in Semester 2, 6 credits in Semester 3

Year 2

6 credits in Semester 1, 6 credits in Semester 2

Courses:

Core courses (21 credits)

Elective courses: take 3 three-credit elective courses or take research project (9 credits)
